Each of the buttons is dual-sided so girls can perform different functions depending on what mode they are in. For instance, in the pet's normal life, girls can groom, feed and play with them - but in their "secret life" girls can prompt them do fun things like dance, sing or play an instrument! The pet's secret life is revealed when girls turn their Pixel Pets house upside down and watch the pet transform into the ultimate rock star! Items in the house like the bed and food dish transform into DJ tables and chandeliers. Girls can plug the pet's house into an MP3 player and watch it dance to the beat of the music! There are different levels of play, so the more a girl plays the more surprises she will unveil. They can also find button push combinations on the website to unlock surprises in the toy! The Pixel Pets houses can also connect together so that they can visit each other. They also connect to the traditional house, Road Trippin' car, Two-Story House or the Love 2 Shop Mall (each sold separately).

My 9 year old daughter has enjoyed this gift. It was a little difficult for her to get her MP3 player to work with it however. The music can be a bit annoying to adults. Still it has been a good gift for girls that are in that in between age.

I have the Pixel Chix Pixel Pets Jammin' Hamster and here's what I say.
It's a very nice thing but don't stay in the secret world too long! When you go back there will be cobwebs. Just press the broom and it will go away.
TIP ALERT: When you go up a level, after you see the code, press the checkmark and you will go up another level and get another code! You can even do it again and go on the last level!
(Hold down all the bottons on the side with 3 bottons in normal mode and it shows your hamster's litter!
Don't forget to name your hamster! I named mine Hammiella/Ella. NO STEALING MY HAMSTER'S NAME OR ELSE!!!!!!!
They should move the hamster drinking up to the wheel floor thingy.
